Needle and Syringe Programs are a public health measure, consistent with the National Drug Strategy's harm minimization framework, to reduce the spread of infections such as HIV and hepatitis C among injecting drug users.
Needle Support Program
TaskForce operates an NSP providing a range of services that include the provision of sterile injecting equipment, education on reducing drug use, health information, and referral to drug treatment. The injecting equipment provided typically includes needles and syringes, swabs and 'sharps bins' for the safe disposal of used needles and syringes. Our NSP is open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
