What’s changing from 1st December 2019

Licence Eligibility Orders (LEO)
As of 1 December 2019, new legislation will be effective which will require drivers to follow new steps to be relicensed and to have their alcohol interlock conditions installed and removed from their driver licence or learner permit. Some of the changes effect the following steps:

  • Licence Eligibility Orders (LEO)
  • Interlock Condition Removal Order (ICRO)
  • Interlock imposition exemption - There will be a new process for relicensing of some historic offences (pre-2014)
  • Alcohol Interlock Installation

Some offences will be transferred from the Court to be managed by VicRoads
If you are unsure of which step you need to take please contact the Driver Relicensing Services on 1300 723 790 or alternately go to https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/licences
