At TaskForce, we recognise that life sometimes throws you unexpected things. Perhaps you’re a grandparent caring for your grandchild, or an auntie or uncle who has taken in a niece or nephew as your own. Whatever the case may be, TaskForce has created a support group for people who are primary carers of a child not biologically theirs.
Once a month, the Caring Again Group meets in Pakenham and Cheltenham where stories are shared. Open discussions and information-sharing has helped many individuals and families cope with the difficulties that come with these unique situations.
Needle Exchange Program
Needle and Syringe Programs are a public health measure, consistent with the National Drug Strategy's harm minimization framework, to reduce the spread of infections such as HIV and hepatitis C among injecting drug users.
TaskForce operates a NSP providing a range of services that include the provision of sterile injecting equipment, education on reducing drug use, health information, and referral to drug treatment. The injecting equipment provided typically includes needles and syringes, swabs and 'sharps bins' for the safe disposal of used needles and syringes. Our NSP is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. For enquiries please call TaskForce on 03 9532 0811.
Three times a week a General Practitioner is available on site to provide consultations to clients on substitute pharmacotherapy for drug dependence.
For appointments or further information please call TaskForce on 03 9532 0811.
