Volunteer Program

We invite expressions of interest from people who share our passion to make a difference. Participants should be at least 18 years of age, be prepared to volunteer regularly for a minimum of six months, with a regular shift commitment of 4 hours per week and be 2 years free from drug use or associated addictive episodes (including alcohol). Those participants who will be involved with direct client work will be required to undertake further training in the 4 core competencies of the Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs.

Paid jobs for skilled and unskilled jobseekers

The TaskForce “FarmForce” project is making available more than 40 full-time jobs for unemployed people.

All these jobs – which are up to 13 weeks – are based at the Collingwood Children’s Farm.

We have positions available, both for skilled and unskilled people.

  • Do you meet the selection criteria for these unskilled and skilled positions?
  • Are you an Australian citizen – or have proof of satisfying the Newstart or Youth Allowance residence requirements?
  • Are you available to work full-time for 13 weeks?
  • Can you be at the job to start at 7.30am?
  • Are you punctual and reliable?
  • Willing to work outdoors?
  • Do heavy work?
  • Can work as part of a team?
  • Follow instructions?
  • Want to benefit from on the job and accredited training?
  • Have a Working with Children’s Check or an application in process? (Forms available and processed at a Post Office).

Skilled positions

  • We also have jobs for people with some skills or experience in building trades.
  • Are you currently employed and a qualified builder?
  • Or do you have building experience?
  • Perhaps you have completed part of an apprenticeship?
  • Or are recently retrenched?
