Working in Prisons
Since the early 1980's TaskForce has worked within the Victorian prison system providing drug and alcohol, clinical and transitional programs. Today we support prisioners both pre and post release through our Stepping Up Stepping Out program in their transition back into the community with a focus on breaking the cycle of addiction and unemployment.
Drug Education for schools
Working in partnership with many local schools, TaskForce focusses on education and prevention and early intervention programs for children as young as 10 and up to year 12.
Drug and alcohol training for professionals
TaskForce has developed a range of training programs for professionals in non-related sectors. The training helps workers in other sectors better identify and respond to the complex issues that surround drug and alcohol use.
Positive parenting:
Is a program for mothers learning to live drug free lives. We support this group to develop parenting skills, coping skills and strategies, and help to build support and pro-social networks for mum and her children.Budgeting:
TaskForce offers in partnership with Odyssey House Victoria a financial case management service to support participants in our programs to get their finances planned, to develop budgets and to plan for the future.Cooking:
Planning a meal, budgeting, purchasing and cooking a meal for a group, a family or a single person on a small budget.Men's behaviour change programs:
An 8 week program helping men understand their behaviour, identify triggers and develop strategies to manage their emotions effectively.Art and play therapy:
Unique specialist support for children who have a parent with an addiction. Through art and play children are able to express their emotions and develop coping strategies and support mechanisms.Natural therapies at TaskForce
Taskforce partners with local practitioners and therapists to provide a range of services and natural therapies from our Moorabbin site. Our aim is to provide additional supports to increase the good health and wellbeing of the community.

- Art therapy
- Therapeutic support groups
- Family and friends group (for people supporting a person with a substance abuse)
- Double trouble - a support group for people with both a substance abuse issue and mental illness
